Uprising XXIV Site Rules
These rules are not set in stone. They are last years rules and are subject to change before the event. Updated rules will be posted when they are available.
  • Site Opens Tuesday June 15 at 12:00 noon anyone arriving before 12 noon may be sent off-site to return later as to not block the access road.
  • Site Closes Sunday June 20 at 12:00 noon. (This is a firm time, please observe it.)
  • The site fees are listed on the Site Overview page.
  • Visitors who have not paid a site fee will not be allowed past Gate. All deliveries for our guests MUST be left at Gate. Anybody who has not paid the applicable site fee will not be allowed on-site.
  • All vehicles must stop at the gate before entering the site. There is a stop sign obey it.
  • The Uprising Staff & the site owners reserve the right to refuse admittance to anyone.
  • No Pets! Anyone arriving with a pet will be turned away. NO EXCEPTIONS! (This includes dogs, cats, rats, and any other form of animal that you could imagine or leaving your pet in your car. Handicapped assistance animals allowed only with the site owner’s permission, something he is not obligated to do.) We suggest a local kennel if you must travel with your pet, but the animal will not be allowed on-site.
  • Do not climb over/through any fence, please use the gates and close them behind you.
  • No driving over or parking on dikes. This will damage the property.
  • There is a 5MPH/8KPH speed limit for all roads within the site. Use special caution in congested areas.
  • There is a canal running beside the property, there is NO swimming and NO wading allowed. Please keep a safe distance from both.
  • The site is WET. Legal drinking age in the state of Idaho is 21. Please drink responsibly.
  • Anyone drinking alcohol MUST have on their person at all times a Government issued photo ID showing they are of legal age.
  • We recreate the past, but all federal, state, and local laws are in effect. We will have no problem turning someone over to the proper authorities.
  • Underage drinking is unlawful and will not be tolerated. Any camp caught giving alcoholic beverages to minors will be ejected from the site without refund.
  • Unlawful drug use is a felony and will not be tolerated. Any person caught using or in possession of controlled substances will be ejected from site into the hands of local law enforcement.
  • The decisions of the Autocrat, Baron and Baroness of One Thousand Eyes, and the Baronial Seneschal are final.  The decisions of event staff in their area of authority are final unless appealed to the Autocrat, Baron and Baroness, or Seneschal. If you have a problem, seek them and ask. If they tell you something, it is law, and failure to comply could result in expulsion from the site without refund.
  • Use of devices capable of launching projectiles are reserved for the appropriate Range or battlefield at scheduled times. Use of these devices outside of these areas is prohibited.
  • All persons under the age of 18 must have a bracelet ID on them at all times. (Bracelets will be handed out at the gate.) Children must remain properly supervised for their own safety.
  • All persons under the age of 18 must be legally signed in at gate.
  • All minors are required to be in their camp by 11PM unless accompanied by a legal guardian.
  • If you are bringing a child who is NOT yours you MUST have 2 copies of properly signed SCA Children's Waivers (Signed by the child's legal parent or guardian). In addition if said child will participate in any form of combat (Youth Combat, Rapier, or Heavy Armor Combat) they will also need a SCA Medical Authorization for Minors. While the State of Idaho does not require notarized waivers, they are included for use on the forms page. We do NOT require any form of Temporary Grant of Guardianship, nor will this be allowed to substitute for the above mentioned requirements.
  • Please note with changes in Corpora in regards to children, parents and guardians of children will be held to a much higher standard than in years past. Children under 14 must remain within visual range of their parent at all times. We recommend use of radios for older children so they also may be within contact of their parents. Please note this mandate is put in place by the BOD. Should there be any updates this rule will be changed to accommodate them.
  • Kids are very welcome, but there are no babysitting facilities. (This includes Pied Piper activities.) You are expected to be in control of your children at all times. Children found unsupervised will have their parents/guardians activities interrupted so they may retrieve their wayward children. Depending on the extent of the violation, ejection from the site without refund may occur.
  • Children are not permitted in any combat area unless accompanied by an adult, and must be restricted to the spectator sections of those battlefields.
  • A Combat Eric will be designated for Children Youth Combat Activities from 9am - 4pm each day during the event. Children may have use of this Eric PROVIDED they have two (2) unrelated Authorized Adults (18 or Older) 1 must be an Authorized Youth Combat Marshal, supervising the activities. Use of Youth Combat equipment without proper supervision will result in confiscation of said equipment. No pickup fights outside of authorized areas. (This means no fighting in any public area.)
  • We require that any parent who has their child attending a children's activity, donates at least an hour per child of their time to help the Children's Activity Coordinator.
  • Children caught in the area of the canal unsupervised will be cause for ejection from the event without refund for themselves and their guardians.
  • Although we have volunteers walk security throughout the event, we recommend you take proper precautions to protect your property, including locking doors, etc.. The Barony of One Thousand Eyes, Kingdom of Artemisia, the SCA Inc., the site owners and their agents assume no responsibility for lost or stolen goods.
  • All parking spaces are assigned this year. Campers and RVs must be parked in the areas designated for RV Parking. Tow Vehicles MUST be connected to the Camper or parked in the area designated as Vehicle Parking (marked on maps also as Dragon Lands).
  • All vehicles MUST have a properly filled out "Parking Permit" (with real name, SCA name, and group camping with) visibly displayed through the front windshield on the driver's side of the dashboard. These will be filled out at Gate.
  • A Special lot will be designated for Handicapped and Staff parking. These special spots are very limited and require a special parking pass to use.
  • Vehicles will be allowed to temporarily park on roadways and Fire-lanes for loading and unloading for thirty minutes. One time to unload and one time to load.
  • A few notes about assigned parking.
    1. Parking will be assigned by the Parking attendants. Once your space is issued it is yours for the event.
    2. If a vehicle is parked in space not assigned to them one attempt will be made to have said vehicle moved, otherwise it will be towed at the owners expense.
  • Failure to follow parking rules could result in a vehicle being towed off site. Should such action be required, the vehicles owner assumes all responsibility.
  • Above Ground Fire Pits Only. Disposal of Ashes, Partially burnt wood, un-burnt wood must be done at designated points. Disposing of ashes, partially burnt wood, or un-burnt wood on the ground is forbidden (Don't burn the grass!). There will be some firewood on site available for use. Unburned firewood should be put back in the firewood pile.
  • Trash, Junk, Etc must be disposed of properly. At the end of the event, if you don't want to take it home with you you MUST throw it in the trash dumpster. PLEASE do not leave trash in the camping areas.
  • Water is available on-site. We will also have shower trucks for your convenience. Please remember, the shower trucks busiest times are in the early evenings after the fighting is over, so plan accordingly for it's use. The shower truck will be open from 8 am to 9 pm each day of the event. Bothering the truck attendees at times other than these are forbidden and can be considered grounds for ejection from the event.
  • Porta Potties are provided for a reason. Anyone caught putting anything in one of these units that they were not designed to handle will be made to extract said item. These devises are made for bodily wastes and toilet paper only. All other items, including but not limited to Disposable Diapers, Bottles, Plastics, lanterns, etc are to be disposed of in the proper trash cans. Failure to follow this edict will result in a two hour forced manual cleaning of said units.
  • Anyone setting up camp in a designated Walkway, Roadway or Fire-lane will be forced to move. These are established for emergency use, honey-trucks, and pedestrian traffic. The Fire-lanes widths and positions are mandated by the local fire department.
  • Main Battlefield and other fighting areas are off limits to everyone but site personnel after dark.
  • Shade is almost non-existent at this site, so bring a shade pavilion.
  • Use of Drums larger than 10”, mechanical, or electronic audio devices are prohibited between 11pm and 7am each night. This rule applies to noise levels. Offending equipment may be confiscated at the determination of the security person investigating the complaint. Remember, while you are having fun, some people are trying to sleep, please be considerate, play quietly, and there won't be any problem.
  • Family Radio Service (FRS) Channels 9-14 are reserved for Site Personnel, and Event Staff.
  • Autocrat / Security monitor Channel 10.
  • With the exception of Merchants, there is no camping in the Town Square. An area beside Town Square is however designated for Camping of select groups/households (Artemisian Royal & 1000 Eyes). No one may camp in this area without permission from the Land Allocation Deputy.
  • Merchanting (sale of goods) may only be performed in designated areas and only by merchants who have registered with the Merchant Coordinator.
  • No soliciting of goods, services, or other material except as provided by our merchanting agreement by those persons who have registered with the Merchant Coordinator.
  • No one shall perform any religious or magical ceremony in such a way as to imply that the ceremony is authorized, sponsored, or promulgated by the Society or to force anyone at a Society event, by direct or indirect pressure, to observe or join the ceremony. (In other words, Religious material of any type may not be distributed. )
  • Only Authorized Fighters (Proof of Authorization and valid membership will be required.) may participate in combat events.
  • Artemisian Kingdom Law states you must also be a member of the SCA to fight. This applies to all forms of non-Youth Combat combat, so if you are an Artemisian, don't forget your valid CURRENT Membership (blue or white) card, as well as your Authorization card to Inspection and Lists, as they WILL be checked.
  • We will honor all current Combat Authorization cards from other Kingdoms in the Known World. However we will follow Artemisian Rules for combat. Should you have a question please contact our Rapier Marshal or Knight Marshal.
