The History of Uprising

any updates, corrections, suggestions, et cetera)
It is a period of civil war.
Rebel fighters, striking from a
hidden base, have won their
first victory against the evil
southern Barony.
(Wait, that sounds really familiar. It must be a period
quote. Afterall, it was a long, long time ago...)
The history of the Uprising War is intimately tied to the history of One Thousand
Eyes, and to Artemisia. Many deeds of valor have been seen on her fields;
many noteworthy gentles have been honored for their actions and works; many have
been Recognized as the Peers of the Realm that they are; and, many good times have
been had by all. Even at Windrising ... and Mudrising ... and Snowrising ... and
... you had fun, trust me.
This page is, and probably always will be, a work in progress. As people send
in more information, memories, photos, etc. this page will grow.
It all began in June A.S. XXII (that's 1987 for you norm... ha ha, right).
Ok, really it started before then, but the first event... Oh, just read the stuff
below.
(A note about awards: For the time being, only the Grant
and Peerage Orders are listed; awards and their dates have been culled from the
Artemisian OP, sometimes cross-referenced with the Atenveldt OP, and occasionaly
other sources as well. So, if something is missing, or was actually awarded
at a different event, or whatever, feel free to
let me know.)

and Chain. King Mark's knighting of Alan while he was Prince of Artemisia
is one of only a handful of sitting Royalty being knighted in the history of the
SCA. |
